Terms of Service

By using SnipSnip ("the Service"), operated at snipsnip.space, you agree to these terms.

1. What the Service Does

SnipSnip is a video editing tool designed for creators to cut, trim, and export segments from their own videos. You provide a URL and timestamps; we render and host the resulting clip for you.

2. Accounts

You may create an account via email or a third-party provider (Google, Facebook, GitHub). You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. One account per person.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Submit videos you do not own or do not have explicit permission to edit
• Use the service to reproduce or distribute third-party copyrighted content without authorisation
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or access controls
• Automate requests (scraping, bots) without written permission
• Upload, distribute, or create clips containing illegal content
• Resell access to the service without permission
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, at our discretion.

4. Content and Copyright

SnipSnip is intended for creators editing content they own or have explicit permission to edit. By submitting a URL, uploading a file, or otherwise using the Service, you represent and warrant that, for every video you process, you own the copyright to the underlying work or have obtained all necessary rights, licences, consents, and permissions to edit, reproduce, and download it. Copyright responsibility lies entirely with you; SnipSnip acts solely as a processing tool and does not pre-screen or monitor submitted content.

SnipSnip does not claim ownership of your clips.

5. Copyright Complaints and Takedown

We respond promptly to notices of alleged infringement. If you are a rights holder (or their authorised agent) and believe content processed or hosted by SnipSnip infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with:

• Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed;
• The specific URL or clip link at issue, so we can locate the material;
• Your contact details (name, email, and postal address);
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief the disputed use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent, or the law; and
• A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or are authorised to act on their behalf.

On receipt of a valid notice we will remove or disable access to the identified clip promptly. Finished clips are hosted for only 24 hours before automatic deletion, so most material is short-lived by design. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe the rights of others.

6. Paid Features

Some features may require payment. By subscribing or purchasing credits:

• You authorise us to charge your payment method via Stripe
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date
• Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis at our discretion
• We may change pricing with 30 days' notice; existing subscriptions are honoured until their next renewal

7. Availability and Reliability

We aim to keep the service running but make no uptime guarantees. The service is provided "as is". We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SnipSnip and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of the service.

Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £50, whichever is greater.

9. Responsibility for Your Content

You are responsible for the videos and clips you create with SnipSnip. If someone else brings a claim against us because of content you submitted, processed, or downloaded — because you broke these terms or the promises you made in section 4, or because you broke the law or another person's rights (such as copyright or privacy) — you agree to cover the reasonable costs we face as a result, including any reasonable legal fees. In plain terms: if your use of the Service causes a legal problem, that responsibility rests with you. Nothing here removes or limits your rights under applicable consumer law.

10. Data and Privacy

Your use of the service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the service, you consent to the data practices described therein.

11. Termination

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these terms or for any reason with reasonable notice. On termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our privacy policy.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated via the website. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
