About SnipSnip

SnipSnip is a free, browser-based video trimming tool built for creators. Paste a video URL, mark the segments you want to keep, and download a single trimmed clip. No software to install, no file upload, and no watermarks.

What it does

SnipSnip lets you cut specific time ranges from an online video and merge them into one downloadable file. You can select a single segment or combine multiple segments from the same video into a seamless output.

Common use cases include:

• Pulling highlights from a long livestream or podcast recording
• Creating short-form clips for social media from a longer video
• Extracting a specific scene, tutorial step, or moment from your content
• Combining the best parts of a video into a single reel or montage

How it works

Everything runs server-side. Your browser never downloads the full video. Here's the flow:

• Paste a URL: the video loads in an embedded player so you can preview it.
• Set timestamps: mark start and end times for each segment you want. You can add as many segments as your tier allows.
• Click Generate: SnipSnip downloads the video on the server, cuts your segments with frame-accurate precision, concatenates them into one file, and returns a download link.

Most clips are ready within seconds. The finished file is hosted for 24 hours, then automatically deleted.

What makes SnipSnip different

• No upload required: you paste a URL instead of uploading a file, so there's no waiting for large uploads over slow connections.
• Multi-segment support: most free tools only let you trim one range. SnipSnip lets you pick multiple segments and joins them into one output.
• No watermarks: your clips are clean. No branding overlaid on the output.
• No account needed: anonymous users can start clipping immediately. Accounts are optional and unlock higher limits.
• Fast, server-side processing: clips are processed on the server, so your device isn't doing the heavy lifting. Works on phones, tablets, and low-powered laptops.

Account tiers

SnipSnip is free to use without an account. Creating a free account or upgrading to a paid plan increases your daily limits and unlocks additional features:

• Anonymous: up to 3 clips per day, 720p max resolution, no account required.
• Free account: up to 10 clips per day, 1080p resolution, persistent clip history.
• Pro account: up to 25 clips per day, 4K resolution, priority processing queue, and full clip history.

Content policy

SnipSnip is designed for creators to trim and edit their own content. By using the tool, you confirm that you own the copyright to, or have explicit permission to edit, the videos you submit. Do not use SnipSnip to reproduce or distribute third-party copyrighted material without authorisation.
